How orders work
There's no shopping cart here. Tell me what you want by email, Reddit or Discord, and I'll confirm price, availability and a shipping date.
Before I take payment, I'll send you this policy and ask you to reply "I agree to the CC Exotics Store Policy dated 5 August 2026." I can't ship without that — it protects both of us.
Where I ship
Continental United States only. I don't ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or U.S. territories.
Some states restrict which invertebrates may be received, and the rules change. If your state restricts anything in your order, I'll tell you before you take payment — I'd rather lose the sale than put you or your animals at risk.
I also decline certain destinations for certain species at my own discretion.
Permits and lawful shipment
I ship only where I'm authorised to, and I'll tell you before you pay if I can't lawfully send something to your state. You're responsible for lawfully possessing and keeping what you buy, and for supplying any permit your own state requires from you before I ship.
Shipping schedule
Live animals ship Tuesday only. Orders placed on a Tuesday ship the following Tuesday. This gives the safest transit and avoids weekend carrier delays.
Service: UPS 2-Day Air or UPS Next Day Air. Live arrival is guaranteed on both.
Weather and temperature
Live arrival is guaranteed when destination temperatures are between 45°F and 85°F. Outside that range I may hold your order until conditions are safe, or ship it at your written request without the guarantee.
Heat and cold packs are included free whenever they're needed.
Hold for pickup: in borderline weather you can ask me to hold the package at a UPS facility for collection. That's often safer than letting it sit on a doorstep in the heat.
Live Arrival Guarantee
If animals arrive dead, I'll cover them — here's exactly how it works.
Report within 1 hour of delivery. The clock starts at the tracked delivery time, or at the time the package becomes available if you chose facility pickup.
Evidence required, on the day of arrival: - Isopods and other inverts — clear photos or video - Springtails — video only. They're too small to photograph usefully.
What's covered: the quantity you paid for. Every live order ships with a 10% or greater overcount to absorb normal transit losses — those extras are a cushion, not part of the guaranteed count.
Remedy: store credit for the value of the livestock lost, excluding shipping.
What voids it: - An incorrect or incomplete address you provided - Refusing delivery, or leaving a package uncollected at a facility - Shipping at your request outside the safe temperature range
What does not void it: a carrier delay or a carrier misdelivery, when you gave me the right address. If the carrier loses time or drops it at the wrong house, that's not on you — the 1-hour window starts whenever it actually reaches you.
Captive use only
These animals are sold for secure, enclosed captive use only. Never release them outdoors, use them for outdoor pest control, or dispose of a live culture anywhere it could escape. USDA warns that land isopods can damage crops, and escapes are how a hobby becomes a regulated problem for everyone.
Refunds and final sale
Except where the law requires otherwise, live animal sales are final and approved LAG claims are settled in store credit.
One exception: if I can't ship by the date I promised you, you can cancel and get a full refund — not credit. That's your right under federal mail-order rules and I'm not going to argue about it.
Nothing in this policy takes away any consumer right you have that can't be waived.
Springtail culture packaging
Cultures ship in a single cup up to 500 count. If you'd rather have them split across multiple cups, just ask me by email before you pay.
The rest
Texas law governs this policy, except where the mandatory law of your own state applies. If any part of this policy turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
